The Proposal

A marriage proposal is an event where one person in a relationship asks for the other's hand in marriage.

If accepted, it marks the initiation of engagement. It often has a ritual quality, sometimes involving the presentation of an engagement ring and the formal asking of a question such as, "Will you marry me?".

Nowadays, men are taking very much effort to make his marriage proposal unique and sometimes extravagant, just to ensure that he will hear the precious “yes” from his beloved sweetheart.

But for this couple, would you believe that there is no marriage proposal ever happen.., Oops, I know you we’re surprised, a wedding without a wedding proposal? Kinda weird, right? Yes, no marriage proposal, because it is the pamamanhikan that happen. The groom biggest surprise to his Maiya.

A “pamamanhikan” is a meeting of both sides of the family of the groom and bride to be. They meet to talk about the wedding details, from the wedding date up to what would be the arrangement and all.

Surprisingly, again, this couple does not conform to that regular pamamanhikan thing. If there is so called "Long Distance Relationship (LDR)" there is also a "Long Distance Pamamanhikan (LDP)".

This "Long Distance Pamamanhikan" happened to this couple, Bride-to-be was 10hours away by land or 408 kilometers away from the venue. The Family of the groom was made an abrupt decision because of the "Love Story" of this almost one (1) decade couple.

The bride have no idea what is happening until she received a call from the grooms’ sister that they will be having that so called "LDP" (Indeed bride-to-be feels happy---so happy that very moment even if she is not sure if that is for real).

While the grooms family was waiting for her mother and chatting with the brides’ grandmother and Titas’, the groom is convincing the bride that it is for real (Take note groom and other family members was imbibed with alcohol drinks because they went on a family overnight swimming the night before) so the Bride was reluctantly disbelief of what his sister and the groom-to-be saying.

Only when her Tita told her that his parents was there looking for her mother and telling that grooms’ family was having these "LDP" -- And talking to the grooms parents as well, make her believed that yes, it is a pamamanhikan.

Seriously, it may not the best wedding proposal nor ordinary type of pamamanhikan, yet, because of this couple love to each other, and the support of the family, … The couple will be marrying each other soon!

Everyone was so excited! Especially the Maiya Couple!

Love Love Love :)
